From TopTable Ottenthal restaurant is a little bit of Austria in the midst of weste
Berlin near theatres, museums and the Kurfurstendamm. Proprietor Arthur Schneller is a devotee of both classic and mode
Austrian cuisine and he is happy to present it here in charming surroundings accompanied by the finest of Austrian wines. The dishes have been gleaned from traditional Austrian dishes, refined for today’s palate. Dishes might include carpaccio of filet of beef and veal with mushrooms and freshly grated grana cheese, roasted filet of pike-perch on lobster sauce with saffron risotto and young chard, and classic Sachertorte. The dining room, too, is a contemporary interpretation of a country Austrian inn, but without the twee detailing. Very smart. The wine list runs to two hundred fifty Austrian wines which are also for sale in the shop. Pavement tables beacon in warm weather and there are enticing vegetarian choices always on the menu.
