From TopTable Balthazar restaurant right on Berlin’s spirited Kurfürstendamm has the warmest hospitality at its heart. When you seat yourself at the jolly, capacious four metre long shared table in the centre of the restaurant, you open yourself to a superb 5 to 12-course menu with matching wine poured from the twelve-litre Balthazar bottles. Or you can book one of the normal tables just for your party of two or more and enjoy the same very stylish, luxurious surroundings. Subtle, neutral colours, elegant seating, fresh flowers, gleaming chandeliers and come together to create a dining room perfect for business and romance. The kitchen, under Head Chef Holger Zurbrüggen, produces confident, playful inte
ationally-inflected dishes that are rooted in Mediterranean and German traditions. Dishes include starter of sashimi and tartare of tuna with mango ginger chutney, main coursegrills of seabass or rumpsteak or springbok, or more complex dishes like duck breast with red wine jus and apple potato gratin, and dessert of two kinds of cannelloni with lebkuchen and spekulatiusmousse and sweet pesto. Al fresco tables in summer and agile service in all seasons.
